My first role out of graduate school was working for a large law firm in downtown Chicago – Chapman and Cutler. I was initially hired as a Marketing intern and officially hired as a Marketing Assistant after three months. Each intern starts on projects that fit their skills, and I spent the bulk of my time creating, researching, writing, and editing marketing materials for all the firm’s practice areas. The Brochure pictured here is one that I made during my time at Chapman. Working in collaboration with my supervisor and the legal library, I collected information on practice areas and past deals to write the copy. For a PDF download of the document, please click here.
Adobe InDesign is the main platform that I worked with to create this document – I used photoshop to develop the white background effect for the headshots. The marketing department utilized both print and digital marketing material, and this brochure was designed with that in mind.

In 2019 Spark decided to run End of Year and Giving Tuesday as one crowdfunding campaign. I designed and wrote all elements of the classy page with the support of my supervisor. We marketed this campaign using social media and our email marketing platform, Mailchimp. As you can see pictured below, I designed a variety of graphics that were used across social media to market/fundraise for the campaign.
The major storytelling element we used for this campaign was the fact that Spark turned 14 that year! Fourteen is also the same age as the students that participate in Spark Program. This was the perfect angle to take when crafting emails and letters for stewardship with current and past donors. The goal that we set for the campaign was $14,000 and we wound up raising over $19,000!
